I believe it’s time for us
to take a bigger stand for Life on Earth, as men.
As a father, I feel an urgency to do everything in my power
to make the changes that need to be made -
for the children and future generations.
What if we, as men, were able to, collectively,
find the courage to leverage our power
towards the solutions that will really make a difference -
for our families and communities?
How might we do that?
To get started,
we need to take time together,
as men,
so we can remember
our essential role as Protectors of Life.

#1: Why Men Need This
Yes. It’s time for men to claim a new, life-affirming, expression of masculine identity. The question is - how are we going to do it? Actually, the question is more like - where are we going to do it? We need a place to be real, so we can get clear about what we stand for, and where we stand. This kickoff, “welcome” episode gives you the “who, what, where, when, why and how” - of the growing Tending Fire Men’s Group Community. If you identify as a man, it will remind you why this work is essential for your soul. If you identify as other than “he/his,” this podcast will inspire you to tell the men in your life to get involved. (Recorded March 2020).
#2: Rites of Passage
In four words - states, stages, cycles and spirals. This episode is about the distinction between “states of consciousness” and “stages of development”; it’s about the difference between “cycles” and “spirals”; it’s about the journey of growth, and offers a map of the terrain that will keep you from getting lost.
#3: Core Principles of Men’s Work
Consistency. Accountability. Support. These are the core principles of Tending Fire Men’s Groups. It’s why they work. It’s what men need, as a baseline, for anything else that is good, to grow in their life.
#4: Key Elements of Facilitating a Men’s Circle
Centering. Gratitude. Vision. Action. Inspiration. These elements bring focus, energy and results to small group men’s work. They breathe life into the core principles - consistency, accountability and support.
#5: What Men Can’t Ignore
Desire. Energy. Time & Task Management, Long-Term Visioning & Planning. Wisdom & Courage. Leadership in Action. These six “themes of the month” are essential tools for the development of mastery. Mastery is what we need, in order to face the challenges-at-hand and be effective.
